Renown psychiatrist in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and author.   Karen's want to work with children grew from profound childhood trauma she was one of the children who survived the murders at Shepperd's Orphanage.

Karen wrote the books The Murdered Dream and The Porcelain Child both books about childhood environment and the impact on the child and ultimately the adult.   Karen has a personal office at the children's Hospital in South Ashfield.

The Murdered Dream is about major traumatic events in childhood inspired by the death of Karen's own parents in a car crash and the massacre at the Orphanage.

The Porcelain Child is on the effects of a child growing up in an isolated condition where their personal and cultural values are different from the vast majority of others around them.  This book has received some criticism.

Karen has been missing for some time and some speculate groups who where not mentioned in her book but alluded to might be responsible,  other blame who ever committed the grizzly murders that took place in South Ashfield in 2004.
